Spring time in Kentucky!

As the days get warmer and the grass a little greener everyday, here in Kentucky everyone is getting geared up and ready for numerous equine events and happenings here in the Bluegrass. Whether that is Thoroughbred Racing, Hunter/Jumping or Cross Country, Foxhunting, trail riding or many of the other discipline or breed choices. Not all competitors have 'seasonal' showing like others such as the Walking Horse or Mountain Horse groups do. For these eventers competing is year round. The local KHJA events here in Kentucky are many. Lakeside Arena has monthly KHJA Schooling shows and also Winter Series 'A' and 'B' Rated shows. Masterson Station and many farms hold their own shows and events. One any given weekend during the spring or summer in Kentucky there will be at least 5 different shows of different breeds and disciplines all over the state.

What I and many, many other equine enthusiasts look especially forward to every year is the Rolex Kentucky 3 Day Event held at the Kentucky Horse Park. Here are the photos I took last year at this event. I hope to enjoy many more years at this amazing event!

White Horse Studios Weddings

White Horse Studios brings elite, artistic and elegant wedding photography to the Bluegrass. I travel nationwide for your special destination weddings.

Women and horses have been main subjects of mine for a very long time and just continues to grow and blossom for me. Whenever I point my lens at either, a spark ignites and something magical just happens. Brides radiate a beautiful and glowing presence on their wedding day like no other day. To be present to capture all of the nuances of a wedding day is an immense responsibility and treasure that I do not take lightly.

Photography started as a deep passion for me as a young girl, I was allowed to carry around my mother's Yashica 35mm camera and shoot whatever I wished as long as I didn't take it horseback riding. I continued that love of photography and art as I grew into a young adult and melded my artistic abilities with the amazing horses in my life. I attended Eastern Kentucky University from 1994 to 1998 for a Bachelors Degree in Art with an empasis in Photography. I have over 32 years of photography experience. I attend workshops and classes by world renowned photographers all over the country and online several times yearly to continue to hone my artistic skills and learn new technologies.
